In 2016, on my first railfan trip, my neighbor and I were waiting for a Norfolk Southern freight to thunder across the nearby bridge. As we waited, I noticed a fisherman in his kayak calmly sitting, as if in a state of tranquility. He was looking around and taking in the beautiful scenery. It serves as a lesson when we forget: sometimes you need to sit back, look around, and see the beauty of God’s creation.
